    General Description of the Position: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all maintenance activities to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of production equipment, facilities, utilities, and infrastructure. This role leads preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, manages maintenance personnel, controls maintenance budgets, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime and supporting operational excellence. List of Duties and Responsibilities: > Maintenance Planning and Management • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. • Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance activities for production equipment, facilities, and utilities. • Ensure maintenance work is completed efficiently and within established timelines. • Establish maintenance priorities based on operational requirements and equipment criticality. • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance work instructions. >. Equipment Reliability and Asset Management • Monitor equipment performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. • Implement asset management strategies to maximize equipment lifespan. • Analyze equipment failures and identify root causes. • Develop corrective and preventive action plans to reduce recurring breakdowns. • Maintain accurate equipment history and maintenance records. >. Team Leadership and Supervision • Lead, supervise, and develop maintenance technicians, engineers, and support personnel. • Assign work schedules and maintenance tasks. • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and training. • Ensure adequate staffing and technical competency within the maintenance team. • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement >. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance • Establish and monitor preventive maintenance schedules. • Implement predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and condition monitoring. • Monitor maintenance effectiveness and optimize maintenance intervals. • Ensure timely completion of inspections, servicing, and equipment overhauls. > Facilities and Utilities Management • Oversee maintenance of buildings, grounds, and facility infrastructure. • Manage utilities including electrical systems, water systems, compressed air systems, HVAC, and other plant services. • Ensure uninterrupted operation of critical facility systems. • Coordinate facility improvement and renovation projects. >. Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance • Ensure compliance with occupational safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. • Enforce safe work practices and maintenance procedures. • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments. • Investigate maintenance-related incidents and implement corrective actions. • Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work systems. >. Project Management • Manage equipment installation, commissioning, and upgrade projects. • Support plant expansion and capital improvement initiatives. • Coordinate contractors and external service providers. • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. • Ensure successful implementation of engineering and maintenance projects. >. Inventory and Spare Parts Management • Manage spare parts inventory and critical equipment components. • Establish inventory control systems to prevent stock shortages. • Coordinate procurement of maintenance materials and services. • Monitor supplier performance and inventory costs. >. Reporting and Continuous Improvement • Prepare maintenance performance reports and KPI dashboards. • Monitor equipment downtime, maintenance costs, and reliability metrics. • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve maintenance effectiveness. • Implement best practices in maintenance management and reliability engineering. >. Regulatory and Compliance • Appointment as Certified Energy Manager required by DOE • Conduct energy audits and assessments of facilities and operations. • Analyze utility bills, energy consumption data, and performance metrics. • Identify and recommend energy conservation measures (ECMs). • Develop energy management strategies and long-term sustainability plans. • Manage energy efficiency projects from planning through implementation. • Monitor and verify energy savings and project performance. • Prepare technical reports, cost-benefit analyses, and presentations. • Ensure compliance with energy regulations, codes, and environmental standards. • Support renewable energy initiatives such as solar, wind, or energy storage projects. • Develop measurement and verification (M&V) programs. • Train staff on energy conservation practices and awareness programs. >.
